3Olympia FKA The Olympia Theatre is an Iconic Irish live entertainment venue. The venue first opened as 'Dan Lowrey's Star of Erin Music Hall' on December 22, 1879. It was transformed from a music hall into a theatre in 1897 has operated under the name 'The Olympia Theatre' since 1923.

Over the decades, the venue has welcomed some of the biggest names in international music and theatre, including David Bowie, R.E.M., Adele, Charlie Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy, The Killers, Radiohead and many more.

With the recent announcement of an eight-year sponsorship deal with Three Ireland. Three and Olympia came to us looking for a new website and online presence that would reflect this monumental partnership and update the website into a sleek, modern and event-driven website that reflects this new brand

Data Insights

Google analytics was used to analyse the performance of the current website. From data alone I got a better understanding of both the users and the website :

  • User Behaviour

  • User flow and blockers

  • Key page and site performance

Behaviour Insights

Hotjar is used to analyse current user behaviour and in turn, gives us a deeper understanding of how users behave on your site

Review of Visualised user behaviour (Heatmaps) User click maps, Scroll position maps, Mouse movements and Screen recording of users

  • Discovery of what attracts attention

  • Analysis of where user attention drops

  • Make sense of web analytics

Surveys and research

Stakeholder and User interviews were conducted to ensure that the key goals and conversions that the users are to make are clearly accounted for in the proposed Information Architecture.

Based on our User Interviews and responses from surveys where we tasked our users to rank the key goals from them. With the below we needed to ensure our UX and UI accounted for this.

Key Goals

  • 92% - To browse upcoming shows

  • 61% - To get information for on the day show and stage times

  • 58% - To view ticket status on upcoming shows

  • 50% - To get more information on the seating plan within the venue to ensure they are purchasing the best tickets.

  • 29% - To browse Imagery of previous shows.
